JOIN THE WHEELERS
If one of your New Year resolutions is to get fit, lose weight, join a social group, enjoy the outdoors, or indeed all of the above, then cycling could be for you. Boyle based Curlieu Wheelers (leisure) Cycling Club will provide you with the support and knowledge to get started. Dust off your bike and helmet and join us for a no-obligation introductory ride on Sunday 15th Jan at 10am from the Crescent, Boyle. We have routes to accommodate all fitness and ability levels.

Boyle and District Angling Club
The Club AGM will take place on Friday 20th January at 8pm in The Well, St Patrick Street. All members are requested to attend.


Curlew Walkers Club

The next meeting of the Curlew Walkers club will be taking  place on Sunday 22nd January, meeting on the Crescent, Boyle at 10.30.  This will be a Flat/Grade C at Limmagh Bog. BACK TO THE EIGHTIES
Abbey Community College is currently busy preparing for the staging of its fifth school musical “Back to the 80’s which will be staged from Thursday 2nd February until Saturday 4th in St Joseph’s Hall, Boyle. There will also be a staging of a matinee show for the local primary schools on Wednesday 1st February. “Back to the 80’s” will bring you on a journey back to a time when Michael Jackson and Rick Astley were the Kings of Pop, where bubble skirts and blue eye shadow were cool. Set in the USA and tells a story of the senior class of William Ocean High in the 1980’s. It is packed with high-energy dance routines as well as some of the most popular songs ever written. The young cast are already having great fun with it and the more senior cast members are having a lovely trip down memory lane.

NEVEN MAGUIRE COMES TO KILRONAN CASTLE
A cookery demonstration with the renowned chef Nevin Maguire will take place on Wednesday 1st March 2017 in Kilronan Castle. Tickets priced €20 are now on sale. This is a fundraising event in aid of Ardcarne Community Childcare Services and Cootehall National School.

COURTYARD MARKET
The Market is open from 10am to 2pm each and every Saturday in the grounds of King House, Boyle. If you would like to enjoy the best locally grown fresh and organic produce, then a trip to Boyle Courtyard Market on Saturday should be on your agenda. There is a wide range of seasonal produce, including organic fruit and vegetables, homemade jams and marmalade, organic free range eggs, fruit juices, gluten free/ sour dough/ spelt bread and all kinds of delicious home bakes are available every week. Alongside the food stalls are a number of crafters selling their handmade wares, so why not come along and have a chat with the stall holders and avail of their ideas. BOYLE ICA
Interested locals in the ICA (Irish Countrywomen’s Association) are trying to reform a guild in Boyle. If anyone is interested please leave their name me or text Yvonne on 087 903 7326. The ICA is the largest women’s association in Ireland, with more than 10,000 members and over 500 Guilds across the country. “We cook, travel, craft and socialise!
