Boyle Ladies GAA – AGM
Boyle Ladies AGM will take place in the clubhouse on Sunday November 26th at 5pm. All coaches, players, parents and everyone interested in the development of ladies football in Boyle is invited to attend. This will be a great opportunity to discuss new ideas and initiatives for the club.

COOTEHALL N.S. ENROLMENT
St. Michael’s & St. Patrick’s N.S. ARDCARNE GARDEN CENTRE
FREE Garden Bird Event, Ardcarne Garden Centre, Boyle, on Sunday 26th November at 2pm. Join Jamie Durrant from Bird Watch Ireland and find out how to feed birds effectively with the best types of food and feeders. You’ll also discover how to identify different birds and how to encourage them to nest in your garden. All welcome.

LOUGH KEY SANTA DASH
A Santa Dash will be taking place on Sunday 3rd December in Lough Key. Boyle at 12 noon. Medals and category trophies open 040/50/60 and u 10/12/14. Register on line at www.myrunresults.com or on the day from 11am. Refreshments afterwards.

BMS TICKETS
Tickets can be purchased from the following outlets in Boyle. Taylor’s Jewellers on Bridge St., Mary Magee’s on Main St. and Unabhán in King House. ‘Joseph…’ will be staged in St. Joseph’s Church from Thursday November 23rd to Saturday November 25th and the performances will be at 8:30pm nightly. Tickets are priced at €15 but special concessions of €10 tickets for children, students and senior citizens, will be available for Thursday night’s show. Tickets will also be available at the door, each night. Because of the change of venue this year, there is no specific seat allocation but a reserved area will be allocated to pre-purchased tickets. The earlier you arrive at the performance, the better your choice of seat in this area. Tickets can also be booked by telephone on the BMS Ticketline, 087 2736740. The show is based on ‘The Coat of Many Colours’ from the book of Genesis, with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and text by Tim Rice and BMS are  very fortunate to be able to present it this year, in the atmospheric surroundings of St. Joseph’s Church. MOVEMBER NIAMHBER FUNDRAISER
For the month of November a group of Boyle gentlemen will be attempting to grow and tame some moustaches in a  ‘Movember’ campaign or ‘Niamhember’ as they are calling it to raise funds in aid of ” Niamh’s Journey There”. Let’s hope there is good growth during November and it brings with it a whole host of silly, bizarre, and overly ambitious moustache attempts! Please support anyone you see during the month with any sort of an attempt at a moustache!

Plans are well progressed for this year’s Christmas Outdoor Market in the grounds of King House and Craft Fair in King House, Boyle. The Markets take place on Friday December 1st and Saturday December 2nd. On Friday, events commence at 5pm, concluding at 9pm On Saturday the markets and fair are open from 10am until 7pm. Tommy Fleming in Kilronan Castle
Tommy Fleming will bring his special Christmas Show to Kilronan Castle on Sunday 3rd December, 2017. This promises to be a special night of music and song with his band in the beautiful setting of Kilronan Castle – a Christmas show not to be missed.

St Joseph’s BNS Christmas Draw
St. Joseph’s Boys National School Parents Association Monster Christmas Draw will take place on Thursday December 21st in the school. Proceeds from the draw will go towards ICT equipment for the school. Please support this worthy cause.

BOYLE GOLF CLUB
The Men’s 18 Hole Stableford held on Sunday the 12th of November was won by the new Greens Convener, Michael Rush, with a score of 39 points. In second place was Gary Carty with 38 points, the best gross score went to Patrick Egan, and in third was Frank Flanagan with 37 points.

BOYLE YOGA SHACK

Update 10th November

BOYLE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS
The Boyle Christmas Lights Team will distribute Raffle cards to ALL Businesses over the coming days for the Annual Cash Draw with prizes in excess of €1,000 to be won. The team appeals to all Businesses to promote the raffle and encourage maximum sales. The annual running costs of the lights is approx. €5,000 and we are this year faced with an additional cost of installing a new infrastructure/upgrading system to accommodate the lights to a RECI approved standard. The erection of the lights commenced Tuesday 7th November in Boyle and again we appeal to anyone, especially Boyle business owners who can lend a hand for a couple of hours. If you’d like to get involved please call Dara on 086 406 6976. The scheduled nights over the next 10 days are this evening (Wednesday 8th) at 6.30pm at the Crescent and Tues 14th & Wednesday 15th November. It takes approx. 500 voluntary man hours to erect and take down the lights, thus help would greatly be appreciated.

Zombie outbreak at King House
“Zombie Science: Worst Case Scenario” will be held in King House on Wednesday 15th November. Held as part of Sligo Science Festival, the event commences at 7pm. It is open to all over 13 and is a free event. To guarantee a seat – email melia.oli@itsligo.ie or call into King House. Zombie Science: Worst Case Scenario is a spoof tutorial on the real science behind a Zombie epidemic. The tutorial puts the audience at the heart of a hypothetical Zombieism outbreak and teaches them what to do when the inevitable Zombie pandemic occurs. The tutorial features a multi-media presentation, practical demonstrations and audience participation.

Mini fashion shows, styling tips etc with Mandy Maher Instore with the Catwalk Modelling Agency taking place in Marians, Bridge Street, Boyle on Saturday 18th November. All Welcome.

With just three weeks to go until opening night, Boyle Musical Society  are delighted to announce that tickets for their eagerly anticipated new show, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat  are now on sale. Tickets can be purchased from the following outlets in Boyle. Widows & Widowers group meeting
A widows and widowers support group will be taking place meet in the Family Life Centre in Boyle from 7.30pm to 9pm. This is a support group for those who have been bereaved by the death of their spouse. The meeting’s take place every second Thursday of the month thereafter. No booking necessary. Cost is a Donation.

BOYLE YOGA SHACK

Monday to Saturday (Inclusive) opening from 9am until 1pm then 7pm until10pm
Sunday 11am until 1pm Please note: On occasion it may be necessary for the Gardai working at the station having to respond to a call or incident of an urgent nature. If this arises, they will have to temporarily close the station in order to respond to the incident. In addition to providing increased opening hours this will provide greater uniformity and consistency for the public. Gardai wish to thank the people of Boyle and the surrounding area for their continued support.

Food Partnership
Boyle Food Partnership was established in July 2017, following the realisation that some households are experiencing food shortages due to a lack of money.  Food supplies are limited and available to those most in need, those who are going without today … not to replenish a cupboard for an unidentified rainy day. We look forward to serving you. If you or anyone you know is going without food due to economic or other hardship, please let them know we are up and running and ask them to get in touch. COMMUNITY CAMES
Boyle Community Games AGM will be held next Tuesday 7th November at 7:15 pm in the GAA Clubhouse. There will be no requirement to take on roles on the committee. The committee would be grateful if parents and coaches that were involved in the different events could attend to provide feedback on the this years competitions and discuss events for 2018

1916 Plaque Unveiling - SUNDAY NOVEMBER 19
The 19th Infantry Battalion association will unveil a 1916 memorial plaque in Boyle. The ceremony will take place adjacent to the Garda station and will commence at 12.30. This is the last of three plaques to be unveiled in the Sligo, Leitrim and Roscommon areas covered by the 19th Battalion. Sunday’s ceremony is organised by members of the association from the former A and E Companys of the 19th.  Light refreshments will be served in St. Joseph’s Hall after the event. Association members, former members of the Battalion and the general public are cordially invited to attend.

FUN RUN/WALK
Corrigeenroe NS are having their 5K Race and Fun Run/Walk on Sunday 12th November in Lough Key Forest Park at 12pm and will be assembling at 11am. Yow can register online at www.myrunresults.com

30km Cycle and 8km Run as Duathlon. Option to Cycle only, Run only or Fun Walk 8km route. Taking place on Sunday 12th November with  registration from 10:45 am in Cloonloo Hall. Halloween children’s craft classes
The Una Bhan Tourism Halloween Children’s Craft Classes will take place on Tuesday 31st, Wednesday 1st, Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th November. Classes run from 2pm to 4pm Classes are open to all children aged 6 – 12 years.The workshops with Anna and Eva will make something different each day to take home and includes snack. Class of ’75 reunion
A reunion of girls from the Class of 1975 from Scoil Chroist an Ri, Boyle is presently being organised. It is hoped to have a get together in 2018 to facilitate girls living overseas.

The Courthouse, Boyle are looking for volunteers to help build scenery. No experience is needed; just a bit of free time. The trains are set up and working so anyone interested can call in this Saturday between 11am and 1pm to have look around.

Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
Boyle Musical Society’s forthcoming production of ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ will be staged from November 23rd to 25th. The 2017 Show will take place nightly at 8.30pm and we are very fortunate to have permission to stage this year’s production in St. Joseph’s Church, so look forward to a spectacular performance. Based on ‘The Coat of Many Colours’ from the book of Genesis, with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and text by Tim Rice, 'Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat' is a show for all the family. It features well known songs like 'Close Every Door' and 'Any Dream Will Do'. Boyle Musical Society last staged 'Joseph...' back in 2001 and the photo is from that production.
Tickets are €15 nightly but concessions for Children and OAP’s will be available for Thursday night’s production (only) at €10. Tickets will be on sale from early November in the following shops-Magees Fashions Main St. Boyle; Taylors Jewellers, Bridge Street, Boyle and Una Bhan Co-operative, Grounds of King House. There is no specific seat allocation but a reserved area will be allocated to pre-purchased seats- The earlier you arrive the better your choice of seat in the reserved area. Town Enhancement Project News
Boyle Town Team and Boyle Chamber of Commerce have jointly welcomed the granting of €100,000 towards the Town Enhancement Project by the Department of Rural and Community Development. The Town Team and Chamber will now liaise with Roscommon Co Co to ascertain the finer points of the grant. The monies will go towards the Town Enhancement Project to include development and works to make the town centre more visually attractive, the advancement of the Scattered Hotel concept and the development of a master-plan for the former Royal Hotel building.

BOYLE GAA NURSERY PROGRAMME
The Nursery Programme is a series of fun based exercises and games to develop movement, motor skills, agility, balance, co-ordination, running and jumping skills. These skills form the basis for the later development of the specific skills of Hurling, Camogie and Gaelic Football. Registration will take place on Wednesday 11th October at 7pm until 8pm in Boyle. For boys and girls 4 to 6 years. Age 4 on the 1st January 2017 and age 6 or under on 31st December 2017. The Programme will start on Monday 16th October at 6pm until 7pm in the Boyle Sports Complex. Registration fee is €20 per child plus €2 per evening to cover the rental of the complex.

Rosary Rally at the Marian Shrine
There will be a Rosary Rally at the Marian Shrine, Carrick Road, Boyle on Friday 13th October at 6.30. Everyone Welcome!

Run Walk N Roll 2017
Now in its 22nd year in Boyle, will take place on Sunday the 15th of October at 3pm at St. Joseph's Hall Boyle. A percentage of the funds raised this year will be donated to 'Niamh's Journey There' as she continues her difficult journey! Check out this link: https://niamhsjourneythere.wordpress.com The theme of this year's run is 'Fight back against Cancer' so that we all come out and fight against it together, both for Niamh and anyone else who benefits from the funds raised for Cancer Research in Ireland. It is a 5.4km run/walk and we encourage everyone to come out and participate, fancy dress is welcome. Entry is on the day and refreshments will be served afterwards. Sponsor cards available. In excess of €160,000 has been raised for cancer research in Boyle, through this event over the last 21 years. Hopefully this money has benefitted people through their journey with cancer and will benefit Niamh on her journey in this difficult time. Calling all Boyle Businesses and Community Groups
As you may be aware, the town of Boyle was the recipient of The Bank of Ireland Most Enterprising Town Award 2017. To celebrate this accolade, the town will play host to an Enterprise and Innovation event in The Spool Factory in Boyle on the evening of October 6th from 6.30 pm to 9.15 pm. As well as involving the business community, the initiative involves the wider community and local schools to ensure everyone can get involved and be part of the positive experience. As part of the evening there will be exhibition spaces for local businesses to meet new customers and interact with other local businesses.  There will also be exhibition spaces for clubs, societies, associations etc., from the locality, with all displaying at the event. The event promises to be a fantastic showcase of Enterprise and Community, and will feature a panel discussion on the Future of Boyle and presentations from local schools who are partaking in Bank of Irelands Young Entrepreneurship Programme Bizworlds. Special guest on the night will be Entrepreneur, Businessman and Broadcaster Bobby Kerr. There is no charge for exhibitors and admission is free for this event. Tea/Coffee and refreshments being served by Bank of Ireland.  If you could attend and exhibit and bring with you your family, friends and customers as this will make the event a really enjoyable and worthwhile experience for all in Boyle. Parish Pastoral council meeting
The Diocese is hosting the Pastoral Gathering again this year in Boyle, and is assisting in its preparation. The Icon of the Holy Family (World Meeting of Families) will be present for veneration at the Gathering on Saturday 7th October and again in St Joseph’s Church on the Sunday and Monday. St Joseph’s Church are working on a Celebration of Baptism for those Baptised in the last year in October and have discussed lighting the Church and its grounds.

Climate Change Conference
This event will take place in the Bush Hotel, Carrick on Shannon on Saturday 7th October at 10.30 until 4.30 and is being sponsored by the Galilee Community, Tintagh, Boyle. Speakers on the day will be Nellie McLaughlin who is a native of Donegal and a member of the Sisters of Mercy, Northern Province.  Eamon Ryan is the Leader of the Green Party who’s main task is building the Party. Eamon formerly chaired the Digital and Energy Policy Groups for the Institute of International and European Affairs in Dublin. Winter Open 9 Hole S/Ford which took place on Sunday 24th September with winner being Gerry Carty 21pts, 2nd Michael Connolly 20pts and 3rd Pat Conroy 19pts. The Roscommon cup to be held in Ballaghaderreen Golf Club has been re-arranged for Saturday 14th October. Winter league will be coming up soon and a sheet is Available on the Notice board.
